The "Florentine" ring embodies classical beauty, implying a rich past and a refined future.
I designed this ring to represent two people coming together who want to hold onto something precious and timeless. Two 18K gold hands are thus used to hold a .51ct VVS round diamond into place. Symbolizing love with two hands is a treasured theme in jewelry, and the Florentine could be seen as a reimagining of the classic Claddagh ring, which also uses hands as symbols. I wanted to take this idea further, however and actually set a stone with the hands. To this end, I designed the diamond to be set into place by the thumbs, with the rest of the stone being protected and seated into the palms. I think the effect of it all is something special and everyone who sees this ring will be captivated and demand a closer look.
For an artful, designer engagement ring whose symbolic value is as certain as its material value, the Florentine is unmatched. Currently the only version of this design, I hope to offer more diamond and metal color choices soon.
